Kate McKinnon: Setting a New Standard for Humans Since 1984
September 27, 2017
I have a person crush on Kate McKinnon. To me, she is perfect.
I’m not super up on pop culture for the most part. My local adult easy listening radio station keeps me up to date on today’s latest hits. But my commitment to staying current on Saturday Night Live is strong. Beyond being my key source of information for understanding politics, SNL is also the workplace of a true American treasure and I will support her dreams until the apocalypse.
On Facebook I post four things. Pictures of my children, Home Alone quotes, things that pop into my head that make me chuckle at my own wit, and videos of Kate McKinnon. That’s it, that’s all there needs to be.
Within a day of starting this blog, Glen asked me if I had written a post about Kate McKinnon. I hadn’t started the rough draft yet and I felt like I betrayed her.
I’m not a super creep about it. Just a total fangirl because she is the funniest person on this planet or any others. And if you’re not at my level of obsession I’ll understand, but if you don’t find her entertaining then I’m not sure we can be friends anymore. Honestly, I don’t know that we ever were.
So to my dear friend, Kate. You are dominating your profession and because I know it will mean a lot, I’m really proud of you.
With deep respect for one of the world’s best humans,
PS. Saturday Night Live Season 43 kicks off this Saturday, September 30. Get your DVR set folks! Or just stay up until 11:30, you crazy kids.
